Perfect for Families and Total Beginners to Expert Shots

The Highlands of Scotland is a world centre for sporting - Queen Victoria and her court followers really started the fashion back in the 1860's. Nowadays, many visitors to the Highlands come year after year to enjoy sporting, from fishing for salmon on the fabulous River Spey, shooting grouse on the heather moors to stalking Red and Roe deer in the hills and forests.

Beginners/Families?

Ever had the desire to try game shooting or fishing but did not have the availability of terrain or equipment? With Highland Discovery Tours, you can have the opportunity to discover some of these sports in just one day, from clay-pigeon shooting to learning how to fly fish for trout and salmon.

If you are a photographer like Steph, and you would rather shoot with your camera - Balnafettach (our small estate) is able to provide close access to a range of wildlife, e.g. roe & red deer, hares, squirrels, buzzards & many other birds (even the rare Osprey comes around daily in the summer months!). The guide will ensure that you can gain reasonably close access to such wildlife.

Whatever option you choose, you will be welcome by a very friendly and knowledgeable team and be surrounded by some superb scenery and wildlife.

Fishing/Shooting Sampler

Spend a day with us as part of a very small, intimate group, under the expert guidance and tuition of a qualified expert shotgun and fly-fishing instructor.

You will spend a half-day learning to fly fish for trout on a small private lochan and the second part of the day receiving tuition in the art of clay pigeon shooting.

Small informal groups (maximum 6).

Costs include for the use of the fishing/shooting and safety equipment, tuition, first trout, 25 clays/cartridges, buffet lunch and delivery/collection from your accommodation.

2008 Prices are: £70 per adult, £55 per child

The Fishing/Shooting Sampler usually starts around 9.30 and finishes when you have had enough!

Clay-Pigeon Shooting

Spend a few hours with us on our private shooting ground where you will receive expert tuition in clay pigeon shooting. Our modern electronic clay traps are set to offer an exciting session for all levels - from beginner to expert shot.

We specialise in providing an entertaining 2-3 hours for beginners and families. During the 2006-7 seasons the age range of our guests was 8 to 82 years old!! Our sessions include for up to 25 shots and safe, expert tuition.

2008 Prices: £35 per adult - £27 per child

Sessions are usually run Tuesdays to Fridays, mornings & afternoons. Advance booking is necessary.

Sporting/Shooting

A wide range of sporting is available (in season) for beginners and experts alike including:-

	Walked-up wild Pheasants
	Rough Shooting (rabbit, hare, pheasant, snipe, woodcock)
	Duck Shooting
	Clay Pigeon (a range of disciplines available)

All-in equipment and tuition packages available.

Payment

Payment can be made cash, by credit card (all major credit cards accepted, except Amex) or cheque (accompanied by guarantee card). Payment will be requested on the day, although a credit card will be needed to hold the booking.

Cancellation conditions: please note that a £10 cancellation fee will apply for cancellations after a confirmed booking has been made. Cancellations made less than 24 hours before the due session will result in the full amount agreed being charged.
